Our Mission & Name

FROM SIDNEY PRINTING TO SPRINGDOT

In the year, 2000, a new millennium, we evaluated who we were and the direction we wished to continue on. That evaluation told us that we were in truth a message facilitator. We use ink and paper to help our clients distribute their messages into the world.

At this time we were also expanding our distribution platforms by use of the internet, fulfillment services online store fronts and more. Our grandfather, Sidney Deutsch, used his name and the word printing.

We wanted to honor him and expand on our direction. How would we present our company in this new century? Our best answer was a new name that would brand us and where we are going.

Our Mission

“Never say no. Always have empathy for the customer. Feel their need, feel their passion. Deliver a great product every time. Be fair, and always be honest.”

Frank Deutsch, the second generation CEO of Sidney Printing works, shared this perspective more than 50 years ago regarding our commitment to fairness, honesty and quality.

Now, as SpringDot – Energized Communication™, we enter the 21st century (and 4th generation management and ownership by the Deutsch family) renewing our commitment to these fundamental values as we endeavor to meet all of your marketing / communications needs AND consistently exceed your expectations.

THE NAMING OF A CENTURY OLD FIRM

With forward motion comes opportunity – and we did not to miss it!

Think of opportunities missed by past industries:

    • Railroads would be landing planes worldwide if they thought there were in the transportation business rather than the railroad business.
    • Sports Illustrated would have absorbed the sports vacuum that ESPN now holds if they were more than a sports magazine.

At some point, Gutenberg must have sat down with his next door neighbor, Rudy, and had to explain what a printer was. “I take ink and press it onto raised metal that represents words, and then I place a piece of paper on it and apply pressure. From this, I print onto the paper.” His neighbor Rudy’s reply could have been: “So, you’re a scribe!”

Not quite the concept he wanted to convey. Gutenberg had his own issues on how to convey his new profession.

Encapsulated in our name are a few underlying beliefs:

    • A journey and not a destination: From the Dot of print to the Dot of the internet.
    • We are invigorated by the continued re-invention of our industry. Energy springs from this.
    • Sidney Deutsch – SD – SpringDot®. A continuum of honesty, service and creative thought.
